Philippine VO Industry Standard Rate Calculator (BETA Mode)

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH VOCALLIANCE

[Last revised: 10/22/2022]

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU START:

This rate guide is a collaborative effort by the industry’s top Voice Acting professionals and the top Production Houses in the country, made to help fellow Voice Actors of all ages and levels in the Philippine VO industry have a clearer picture about how to price their voice acting work fairly, purposefully, and sustainably, and to ensure base rates are aligned with the industry standard.

These rates are determined by different factors that go into the work we do — it’s not just about our voice acting talents, but it also includes production components such as man hours, editing, equipment, training, and usage/ where the materials will be used. In advertising, you have to consider lockout periods as well (the amount of time before you can take on work from competing clients) which raises your opportunity cost.

Since you are a professional, you deserve to be paid professionally to help sustain your Voice Acting career/ business. If we collectively and consistently aim to follow the rate guide, we, the Voice Acting community and the industry will be able to successfully progress.

RATE INCLUSIONS:

– Rates include the production/ basic session fee (voice talent, man hours, basic editing, equipment, etc.) and the usage rate.

– Free re-records up to 10-30% of total word count up to 2 revision sessions.

– Mistakes = Free.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

– These rates are simply guidelines/ the base rate, and not absolute.

– Production Houses follow this rate guide as well but there are several custom permutations/ variations of rate computations done depending on the need of the project which Production Houses adjust to depending on the needs of the project.

– They may be adjusted within client’s budget within reason.

– They may be adjusted depending on the complexity of the project scope as well.

– Rates are subject to change as the industry evolves and more information is gathered.

– The estimated total is the Gross estimated total and is still subject to subject to withholding tax, agency fees, etc.

– For projects that involve multiple scripts or even multiple edit downs, derivatives, etc, consider giving a packaged/discounted rate. Consider extending a discount of up to 10%, for example for projects with multiple edit downs/derivatives. This is not necessarily a benchmark as rates will vary depending on the project’s requirement as well complexity of script.

– Mouse over the “i” icon for more information about each material.

If you have any questions, clarifications about the rate calculator or suggestions on how to improve it further, please don’t hesitate to send us a message at systems.ph@voiceactorsathome.com.

While uncommon, if the booking is more than 30 days old, the original category booking rate applies for the total number of words needed to be recorded only. Not the total of the entire script. Or the project can be treated as a derivative depending on negotiations.

For Home Studios: you may abide by the same rules or use your own discretion in determining at what threshold you will charge an additional cost. Below are the sample rates for additional cost.

Computation:

+50% of initial fee for every additional country or can be packaged for a lower price if there are multiple countries.
