Nandito tayo ulit para sa panibago nating video kung saan pagkukwentuhan natin kung paano tayo magvo-vocal warm up na pwede ninyong magamit sa kahit na anong performance ninyo na gumagamit ng boses.
Bibigyan ko rin kayo ng actual scenario and practice na ginagawa ko everyday before doing my dubbing sessions.
Tip Number 1: Whole Body Exercise
If you have a pocket of time, pili kayo either morning, afternoon, or night.
Do some arabic or cardio exercise like walking, running, jogging, or jump rope dahil nakatutulong ito para mapalakas at mapatibay ang ating heart, lungs, at circulatory system.
Aerobic means oxygen.
Kasi sa voice over or dubbing, most of the time gagamit tayo ng hangin to deliver our dialogs or scripts and we have to stay focused and sharp specially when recording and collaborating with the director, sound engineer, or even when we are recording at home by ourselves.
Tip Number 2: Read and Memorize Tongue Twisters
Tagalog or English.
Pwede mo itong gawin ng nakaupo at nagkakape sa’yong home studio, habang naglilinis ng bahay, naglilinis ng ating pets, naghuhugas ng plato, at kahit anong gawaing bahay.
Your choice.

Habang ginagawa natin yung pagbi-beat box na yun, unti-unti ng nagigising ang ating boses.
At sa pamamagitan rin nun, nagiging creative din tayo para pag-salang natin sa isang studio, sa isang recording session, medyo na-fire up na yung ating creativity as an artist.
Jump Straight to Recording
What I usually do naman, kung wala nang oras and we have a deadline to meet: I jump straight to my recording and I record the crowd track and throw a bunch of adlibs para magising ang boses ko.
“Wait, sir. Excuse me, sir. Additional question, sir. Right, that’s correct. Really? Is that true? Oh my goodness, this is so bad.”
“Hey! What are you doing here? Get out of this place! [reax] No, I’m so sorry. Can’t do that here.”
In short, daldal ka lang ng daldal.
Sa ganitong paraan, kasi nagigising ang two small folds of muscle na tinatawag na vocal cords sa ating larynx o voice box, at ito ay matatagpuan sa harap ng ating leeg.
Kapag tayo ay nagsasalita, the air which passes through the vocal cords causes them to vibrate and create sound waves.
Imagine this small muscle really works hard to do what we do as [a] voice actor which again, to talk, talk, talk, and talk.
Practice Scenario
“Ah, dito lang, dito lang. Ah, bagong luto na ito, kadarating lang. Ah, mga suki, bili na kayo, bagong-bago ito. Oo, o sige, ilan ba kukunin mo?”
“Ah, bigyan niyo lang po ako ng tatlo.”
“O, sige, sige ha? Tatlo lang ba talaga? Oy, kung ako sayo’y dagdagan mo na.”
“Ah, sige po, gawin niyo na lang pong sampu para rin po may mauuwi ako sa aking pamilya.”
“Oo, tamang-tama yon. O sige, oh heto, ibabalot ko lang sandali yung iho, ha? [reax] Oh eto, ayan.”
“Ah. Maraming salamat po, ‘Lo! Sa susunod po ulit ha? Paalam.”
“O, sige iho, mag-iingat ka. O, ingat ka diyan ha, baka madapa ka!”
Importance of Vocal Cord Care
Kaya naman kailangan natin itong pangalagaang mabuti, kasi nga ito ang ating puhunan.
Sometimes, what I do is give it a little massage like this [6:08], at least one minute.
And make sure na maipahinga natin ito at least five to seven hours everyday.
And remember to stay hydrated the whole day.
Interesting Facts about Vocal Cords
Kasi ayon sa isang article, a grown man’s vocal cords open and close about one hundred twenty times (120/sec) each second when saying “ah”.
A kid’s vocal cords open and close more times per second than adults.
Their vocal cords are also smaller. This is why children’s voices sound higher.
As an eleven-year-old boy, your vocal cords will open and close about two hundred thirty-seven times (237/sec) each second when you say “ah”.
This means if you said “ah” for a minute, that would be fourteen thousand two hundred twenty vibrations (14,220/min).
An hour of voice would be eight hundred fifty-three thousand two hundred vibrations (853,200/hr).
Now, think of how much you normally talk and you can see that your vocal cords are vibrating many thousands of times over a whole day.
And imagine if this is your job, right?
So, importante na ma-warm up natin at maipahinga natin ang boses natin ng mabuti.

We’re here again for another video where we’ll discuss how we can do vocal warm-ups that you can use for any performance that requires your voice.
I will also give you an actual scenario and practice that I do every day before doing my dubbing sessions.
Tip Number 1: Whole Body Exercise
If you have a pocket of time, choose either morning, afternoon, or night.
Do some aerobic or cardio exercise like walking, running, jogging, or jump rope because it helps to strengthen and fortify our heart, lungs, and circulatory system.
Aerobic means oxygen.
In voice over or dubbing, most of the time we use air to deliver our dialogs or scripts and we have to stay focused and sharp especially when recording and collaborating with the director, sound engineer, or even when we are recording at home by ourselves.
Tip Number 2: Read and Memorize Tongue Twisters
Tagalog or English.
You can do this while sitting and having coffee in your home studio, while cleaning the house, cleaning our pets, washing dishes, and any household chores.
